Credentials

Jahada Jones holds a master’s degree in teaching and special education with a reading

endorsement from Georgia State University and a bachelors in Integrative Studies with a minor in Linguistics from Kennesaw State University. Jahada’s Georgia Educator Certificate is in special education general curriculum (P-12). 

Experience

In 2019, Jahada  completed her student teaching internship at Connections School of Atlanta before joining full-time as the literature and writing teacher. Before then, she served as a multitude of substitute teachers, a nanny, and a facilitator with a student on the spectrum, which ultimately exposed her to the neurodiverse community.

Personal Interest

When she’s not in the classroom, Jahada enjoys interior decorating and roaming the shelves of used book stores, looking for her next read. Jahada values Sunday dinners with her family and loves playing games, especially on a game night with friends. Her favorite game to play is Taboo. She likes to end her days on nature walks with her dog, Onyx.
 

Why Jahada is excited to be on the All Minds team

I love every representation of what I do as an educator. My favorite part is helping

students to find the words to share what they want. I have a knack for reading,

writing and all things literacy. I want students to have the same opportunities in education as those who follow a neurotypical route. I am here to prove to others that there are no limits to the way a student learns as long as they have the proper resources that can accommodate their individual learning styles. My students describe me as “a believer in our ability".

I am truly excited to be a part of All Minds Academy because the goals are aligned with

what I want to do professionally. Ever since I started my work using the letter boards, I have

always looked for ways to build a curriculum that’s engaging, fulfilling, level-appropriate and accessible to non-speakers all over. I believe All Minds Academy is one of the foundations in helping me to do so. I’m really looking forward to working with other professionals to help build this into a reality.
