Experience
Laura Moye is passionate about global citizenship and helping students develop as critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Laura grew up in Hong Kong, where she attended British and American schools. After being a student activist for human rights for five years, she developed a fifteen-year advocacy career with Amnesty International USA. She transitioned into teaching, her "college plan A," in Washington, DC, where she taught history and geography for five years. Since 2020, Laura has been living in Taiwan, where she teaches high school social studies at American School in Taichung. She is the Model UN Coordinator and Social Studies Curriculum Specialist.
Personal Interests
Laura enjoys traveling to interesting places, learning about different cultures, and exploring cities. She especially loves traveling by train and finding interesting nooks on foot. She loves watching movies, experiencing the arts, listening to political podcasts, and discovering the history of places and things. Her idea of a great afternoon is having an engaging conversation about spirituality, social studies, or a quirky cultural topic with her favorite people, good coffee, and a matcha-flavored desert in a cosy setting.
Why Laura is excited to be on the All Minds team
Laura was inspired by Dr. Jen’s vision to build a school that would serve a group of talented students who have not been given nearly enough opportunities to learn and give back to the world. All Minds matches Laura’s passion to cultivate global citizens with students who are eager to learn and ready to share their voice with the world.
